Today, The Andy Warhol Museum launched a new digital museum guide on Bloomberg Connects, the free arts and cultural app created by Bloomberg Philanthropies. The Bloomberg Connects app, available for download from the Google Play store or the App Store, makes The Warhol accessible for either onsite or offsite visits through photo, audio, text, way-finding maps and videos offering insights into the museum and its collection.
“This digital museum guide enables visitors onsite or at home to learn about the life and art of Andy Warhol through different stories and a variety of voices, such as scholars, curators and members of Warhol’s family,” said Nicole Dezelon, senior director of learning & public engagement. “Designed with a variety of accessibility features, the app can be used in conjunction with over a dozen touchable, three-dimensional reproductions of selected works from The Warhol’s collection, supporting the museum’s commitment to accessibility.”
Bloomberg Connects offers free digital guides to cultural organizations around the world. The app platform is part of Bloomberg Philanthropies’ longstanding commitment to supporting digital innovation in the arts. Bloomberg Connects makes it easy to access and engage with arts and culture from mobile devices when visiting in person, or anytime from anywhere.
“We are excited to be joining over 350 other cultural spaces in partnering with Bloomberg Connects,” said Derek Palladino, director of digital engagement. “This app will give us the opportunity to offer engaging experiences for people of all abilities and grow and expand our digital offerings as the museum continues to explore the life and art of Andy Warhol and his vast influences.”
